Mitsubishi driving to first loss in 8 years

Mitsubishi Motors expects to post a net loss of $1.4 billion for its current fiscal year.

That would be its first net loss in eight years.

The announcement follows news in April that Mitsubishi manipulated fuel economy tests affecting hundreds of thousands of vehicles in Japan. The scandal later spread to more vehicles, and the company admitted to performing the practice for a quarter century.
