The Show Me State's unemployment rate was flat in June, according to the latest data from the Missouri Economic Research and Information Center.
The state's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4% last month, according to a news release. Missouri's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in June 2024 was 3.8%.
Nonfarm payroll ranks statewide increased by 7,900 jobs month over month. Private service-providing industries posted a 7,700-job jump, and health services, up 6,800, and leisure and hospitality, up 4,100, were among recorded increases. Offsetting industries included trade, transportation and utilities, which was down by 1,200 jobs, and professional and business services, down 1,100.
The Springfield metropolitan statistical area's seasonally adjusted nonfarm payroll ranks were 238,000 in June, a month-over-month increase of 700 jobs, according to the release.
The MERIC report indicates the private workforce in the Springfield MSA in June was 207,300, with those workers making average weekly earnings of $869.84.
