The Show Me State's unemployment rate was up a tenth of a percentage point in April, according to the latest data from the Missouri Economic Research and Information Center.
Missouri's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate last month was 3.9%, according to a news release.
Nonfarm payroll ranks statewide were down by 6,600 jobs from a revised March figure, according to MERIC. Month-over-month decreases included an 1,800-job loss in leisure and hospitality and an 1,100-job dip in trade, transportation and utilities.
The Springfield metropolitan statistical area's seasonally adjusted nonfarm payroll ranks were 236,700 in April, a month-over-month decrease of 400 jobs, according to the release.
The MERIC report indicates the private workforce in the Springfield MSA in April was 205,100, with those workers making average weekly earnings of $844.01.
