Missouri has posted back-to-back historic lows in its monthly unemployment rate.
In July, the state's seasonally adjusted jobless rate was 2.5%, according to a news release from the Missouri Economic Research and Information Center.
It's the lowest recorded seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Missouri since the data series began in 1976, and the previous low was set in June this year at 2.8%. The July 2021 jobless rate was 4.3%.
Last month, the state's nonfarm payroll ranks rose by 24,800 jobs from June, according to the release. Government employment, which increased by 14,300 jobs, was one of the top-performing industries in July.
