Missouri’s minimum wage is increasing with the new year.
The minimum wage is now $15 per hour, effective Jan. 1, according to the Missouri Department of Labor & Industrial Relations minimum wage portal. The minimum wage previously was $13.75 per hour.
The increase is dictated by House Bill 567, which was signed into law in July by Gov. Mike Kehoe.
The bill modified provisions related to paid sick leave and employee compensation under Proposition A, which was approved by voters in November 2024. It repealed a requirement that employers provide one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked and ended automatic Consumer Price Index adjustments to the state’s minimum wage.
In announcing the bill signing, Kehoe said the legislation protects “the people who make Missouri work – families, job creators, and small-business owners – by cutting taxes, rolling back overreach and eliminating costly mandates.”
The state’s minimum wage portal also indicates employers must pay tipped employees at least 50% of the minimum wage, or $7.50 per hour.
