Missouri’s fiscal year-to-date net general revenue collections are up 5.2 percent from fiscal 2007, according to Commissioner of Administration Larry Schepker.

Fiscal 2008 collections are $4.9 billion, up from $4.66 billion, Schepker said in a news release.

February’s collections increased 8.7 percent over February 2007 to $438.9 million from $403.7 million.

• Sales and use tax collections have increased 0.2 percent for the year to $1.359 billion from $1.357 billion. They increased 3.8 percent for February.

• Individual income tax collections have increased 8.6 percent for the year to $3.6 billion from $3.31 billion. They increased 8.2 percent for February.

• Corporate income and corporate franchise tax collections have increased 1.7 percent for the year to $316.2 million from $310.9 million. They increased 60.4 percent for February.

• All other collections have increased 5 percent for the year to $286.2 million from $272.6 million. They increased 19.7 percent for February.

• Refunds have increased 10.5 percent for the year to $657 million from $594.3 million. They increased 8.3 percent for February.

Even though year-to-date collections are strong, uncertainties in the national economy could impact collections for the remainder of the year, Schepker said.
