The state came in 10th in registered projects for the event, according to the Missouri Community Service Commission. Volunteers participated in 37 registered projects in 24 Missouri communities.
Projects ranged from food drives and hurricane relief to neighborhood cleanup efforts.
Two projects were registered in the southwest Missouri region – a litter campaign in Marshfield and a garage sale and bake sale in Springfield. Jefferson City and St. Louis topped the Missouri list with five projects each.
About 3 million people volunteered nationwide in a total of 1,391 projects.
Awards will be given for projects and charitable contributions in April. To have a project considered, an online entry form is available at makeadifferenceday.com.
