Gov. Mike Parson yesterday announced the state would end distribution of federal pandemic-related unemployment benefits.
That includes $300 weekly unemployment checks.
"Despite our economy's strong comeback, many business owners and employers across the state are still struggling — not because of COVID-19, but because they can't find people to fill the jobs," Parson said. "It’s time we end these programs that have incentivized people to stay out of the workforce. This is an important step toward returning to normalcy and strengthening the economy."
