Missouri sued over prescription discount law

The state of Missouri has been sued by three pharmaceutical companies and their national lobbying organization over a prescription discount law.

Novartis, AstraZeneca, Abbvie and PhRMA, the lobbying arm of the pharmaceutical industry, allege the law unconstitutionally intrudes into interstate commerce.

The law, which takes effect this week, requires companies to give medical providers unlimited access to discounted drugs for their pharmacies.
