Missouri yesterday reported the largest daily increase of new COVID-19 cases to date.

There were 773 new cases reported on Tuesday, representing a 220-case increase from the previous record of 553 set June 25.

Department of Health and Senior Services officials cited "decreased staffing for data entry over the holiday weekend and delays in receiving data reports from labs."

The total caseload in Missouri has exceeded 24,600. There have been 1,042 deaths, including 14 reported yesterday.
