Missouri yesterday reported the largest daily increase to date in new COVID-19 cases.
There were 795 new cases, topping the previous daily record of 773 set Monday. Prior to that, the record had been 553 cases on June 25.
Dr. Randall Williams, Missouri's health director, said the majority of new cases this week are around the St. Louis, Kansas City, Columbia and Joplin metropolitan areas.
