Missouri is seeking a disaster declaration expansion from the federal government to cover flooding and storms this year.
The request calls for assistance in 14 counties and the city of St. Louis. Officials say preliminary assessments have identified some $14 million worth of emergency response costs and public infrastructure damages in those areas.
Previously, the federal government gave the green light for $49 million in assistance in 68 Missouri counties.
