Missouri ordered to sell parts of planned state park

The state of Missouri was ordered by an Oregon County circuit judge to sell parts of land it owns for a planned state park.

The park is planned on roughly 4,200 acres along the Eleven Point River in southern Missouri.

The circuit judge ruled in favor of plaintiffs who argued that roughly 625 acres of the planned park are located in a federal easement. The lawsuit alleged the use of the land as a park “would destroy the wild and scenic nature of the easement.”
