Missouri offers buyback program for invasive trees

The Missouri Department of Conservation is offering a buyback program for invasive pear trees.

Department officials say Callery pear trees cause ecological problems that native varieties do not.

In exchange for cutting down a Callery, the department will provide a free native replacement.
