The Missouri Department of Economic Development selected a leader for the state's newly formed Broadband Development Office.
Former Lee's Summit Chamber of Commerce President Tim Arbeiter is the selection.
In the role, he'll lead efforts to expand broadband access statewide.
"Broadband access will open up so many new opportunities for farms, small businesses, health care providers, schools and consumers in rural areas," Arbeiter said. "It truly has the potential to improve the lives of hundreds of thousands of Missourians."
