A Missouri Senate committee on Wednesday discussed legislation that would eliminate the sales tax on infant care items such as baby wipes and bottles.
State Sen. Barbara Anne Washington, D-Kansas City, the bill's sponsor, wants to remove what she has called a "parenting tax” on certain items.
The General Assembly last year passed legislation that removed diapers and feminine hygiene products from the state sales tax.
