Missouri lawmakers approve mail-in voting

Missouri state lawmakers on Friday approved a measure allowing residents to vote by mail in the August and November elections.

Legislators approved the legislation shortly before their deadline to pass bills. It's designed to allow voters to avoid poll places amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Missouri and the Missouri Voter Protection Coalition previously filed a lawsuit seeking to make absentee mail-in voting available to all state residents.
