The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Competitive Highway Bridge Program awarded a $20.7 million grant to Missouri.
With the grant funding, the Missouri Department of Transportation will replace 40 bridges in the northern part of the state.
The bridge replacements would improve safety on rural roads north of Interstate 70.
