U.S. Sens. Roy Blunt and Claire McCaskill in Missouri and Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner said Monday they will lobby federal employees to locate the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency headquarters in their respective states.
The prize is a $1.6 billion NGA facility, 3,100 jobs and millions of dollars in tax revenues, according to the St. Louis Business Journal.
The city of St. Louis is hoping to lure the NGA to a site in the north part of the city; it is currently located in a facility near the Anheuser-Busch brewery. Also offering sites are St. Clair County and Fenton and Mehlville in St. Louis County.
