Jan. 25 is the deadline for nominations for the 2008 Governor’s Humanities Awards, which are presented by the Missouri Humanities Council, a statewide cultural group.

The Governor’s Humanities Awards recognize outstanding teaching in Missouri schools, community outreach activities by humanities institutions and exemplary interpretive practices in libraries, history organizations or other humanitarian groups. The awards also recognize humanities books that have increased understanding of Missouri’s history and culture.

Award categories, guidelines and nomination forms are available at www.mohumanities.org or by calling the council office at (800) 357-0909.
