Missouri House set to give governor power to spend more on pandemic

With a Dec. 31 deadline looming for available federal stimulus dollars, the Missouri House is expected today to give Gov. Mike Parson the power to spend another $1.3 billion to help the state react and respond to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The state House Budget Committee on Monday endorsed the governor’s plan with no changes. A full chamber vote is planned today and the Senate is scheduled to take it up next week.

Missouri counties have spent $128 million of the $520 million they received.
