Missouri health director out following blowback

Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services Director Don Kauerauf is out following conservative blowback.

Opponents to Kauerauf's nomination have falsely claimed he would push for a statewide vaccine mandate.

Senators on Tuesday adjourned for the week without taking up his nomination. Gov. Mike Parson accepted Kauerauf's resignation.

Parson temporarily appointed Richard Moore, who serves as general counsel for the department, as its leader.
