Missouri gets public housing funding

Posted online
Missouri is in line to get more than $29 million in public-housing grants from the federal stimulus program.

U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill announced Wednesday that the Show-Me State would receive funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for more than 100 housing authorities, including more than $1.4 million for the Springfield Housing Authority.

Local projects would then be eligible to receive money from these grants by following each program's individual process.

The money is being provided through the Public Housing Capital Fund Program to support the modernization and development of public housing.[[In-content Ad]]
