Missouri gas prices falling but up from last year

Missouri gas prices fell an average of 10.9 cents per gallon during the last week, according to a MissouriGasPrices.com news release.

The average price per gallon during the week was $2.52, compared to $2.63 the previous week.

Aug. 15 prices were 5.3 cents per gallon higher than the same day in 2009 and were 7.4 cents per gallon lower than a month ago, according to the release.

The current lowest price per gallon in Springfield is $2.43 - which can be found at Sam's Club, at 745 W. El Camino Alto St., according to user-submitted information on the site.

The national average was 2.2 cents a gallon higher than a month ago and 12.7 cents per gallon higher than a year ago, the release said.
