Missouri's gas average rose 3 cents during the past week to $3.05 per gallon.
Today's average represents a month-to-month increase of 14 cents and a year-to-year bump of 5 cents, according to GasBuddy.com data.
Missouri's average this morning was below the U.S. average of $3.29 per gallon. Missouri ranked fourth in the nation on GasBuddy's
list of the lowest gas prices countrywide. At $3.02 per gallon, Oklahoma held the top spot, while Hawaii bottomed out the list at $4.01 per gallon.
In Missouri, the cheapest price for gas this morning was $2.85 per gallon at filling stations in Aurora and Neosho. In Ladue, a high price of $3.49 per gallon was recorded, according to GasBuddy's MissouriGasPrices.com.
Springfieldians could find gas for a low price of $2.92 per gallon at the Sam's Club stores at 3660 E. Sunshine St. and 745 W. El Camino Alto Drive. The Conoco station at 1402 E. Republic Road reportedly was selling gas for $2.93 per gallon, followed by a range of $2.95 per gallon to $2.99 per gallon at several stations citywide.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil was trading at $92.72 per barrel as of 11:53 a.m., compared to $93.96 a week ago. Light sweet crude oil futures for February were trading at $92.04 per barrel on the
New York Mercantile Exchange.
