Missouri DNR offers $26M in energy efficiency funding

Posted online
The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is accepting applications for the Energize Missouri Housing Initiative, a program designed to boost energy savings and cut utility costs for Missouri low-income families.

DNR has allocated $25.6 million statewide for the program, which is open to not-for-profit organizations, community action agencies and public entities, according to a department news release. Program funding comes from the federal stimulus package.

The program is designed to support new approaches to meeting energy-efficiency and housing-quality needs through the federal Low Income Weatherization Assistance Program. Delivery of energy-efficiency improvements and services must be a primary component of any proposal, and awarded funds must be spent in accordance with LIWAP rules, according to the release.

Applications for the program are available at this Web site.[[In-content Ad]]
