Missouri companies make national rankings

The well-known Fortune 500 and its upstart rival, the Forbes 500, have plenty of competitors when it comes to compiling lists of who does what well. Here are the Web versions of some of these lists of cutting-edge companies.

The incredible vitality and imagination of many of the 500 companies on Inc. magazine's 1998 list of fastest growing private companies suggest that at least some of them have the potential to fuel the nation's economic engine well into the 21st century.
