The Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Friday issued its support of Medicaid expansion in the state.
Officials with the chamber said the ballot initiative is a "pro-jobs measure that will help fuel economic growth throughout our state.”
Gov. Mike Parson, who last month moved the referendum to the August primary from the November election, has expressed concerns with the measure. He has said it could create a budget gap as new enrollees join the state’s Mo HealthNet program.
