Springfield attorneys William A.R. Dalton, David G. Holden and C. Dudley Martin were appointed as senior counselors of The Missouri Bar during its 129th annual meeting Sept. 17-19 in Kansas City.
The title, given to 73 bar members during the meeting's opening luncheon, is awarded to lawyers admitted to Missouri Bar for 50 years or who have reached the age of 75. There are now more than 30 Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association members with the senior counselor distinction, said Crista Hogan, executive director of the Springfield bar.
Andy Dalton is a retired Springfield City Utilities general counsel, now serving on the Wonders of Wildlife board of directors. Holden is a general practice attorney with an office on South Glenstone Avenue. Martin operates Martin & Associates Attorneys on East Walnut Street.
Also during the meeting, the bar elected its 2008-09 board officers: Thomas M. Burke, of St. Louis, president; H.A. "Skip" Walther, of Columbia, president-elect; and John S. Johnston, of Kansas City, vice president.
Springfield lawyers that were elected include:
Deanna K. Scott of Springfield-based Legal Services of Southern Missouri - elected to the executive committee of the state bar, which has 29,000 members;
Jake Reinbold of Turner, Reid, Duncan, Loomer and Patton - began service as representative to the southwest Missouri region in the Missouri Bar's young lawyer section council and serves with Aaron Jones of Hulston, Jones & Marsh; and
Brett Roubal of Baird, Lightner, Millsap & Harpool - elected District 10 representative to The Missouri Bar Board of Governors, joining Wallace Squibb of Squibb Law Firm.
Hogan said state bar exam results were released in mid-September, which will increase the Springfield bar's membership of 804. "There will be probably 15 to 20 more lawyers coming into the community," she said.
