The Missouri Public Service Commission approved a wind energy transmission line called the Grain Belt Express.
The transmission line, which would connect Kansas wind farms to the eastern power grid, has faced years of rejection, court battles and delays. It's projected to cross the properties of some 570 landowners in Missouri.
The Missouri Landowners Alliance and Eastern Missouri Landowners Alliance immediately announced plans to appeal the commission's order.
