Missouri appeals court approves controversial power line

The Missouri Court of Appeals Eastern District on Tuesday approved the state's portion of a controversial wind power transmission line.

The ruling marked a defeat for against landowners and the Missouri Farm Bureau. Developers have the right to use eminent domain to construct the line.

The Grain Belt Express Transmission line, a $2.3 billion high-voltage project, is designed to carry electricity generated at Kansas windmills to an Indiana power grid, where it would serve eastern states.
