Missouri among worst states for overall well-being

Missouri ranked No. 41 on the annual Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index.

Released Thursday, the 2014 rankings are based on 176,000 phone interviews and measure how people feel about and experience their daily lives, and looks at their health across five categories: purpose, social, financial, community and physical, according to USA Today.

Alaska nabbed the top spot, while West Virginia came in dead last for the sixth time in six years.
