Missouri American Water has filed for a rate increase with the Missouri Public Service Commission.
The average residential customer would see an increase to $17.29 per month from $16.10. The average user is defined as someone who uses 4,000 to 5,000 gallons monthly.
Missouri American hopes to increase annual water and sewer revenues by about $166.6 million through the increase.
