Mississippi is threatening to sue former professional football player Brett Favre if he does not repay $828,000 he owes within 30 days, according to the state auditor's office.
Favre, who has not been charged, reportedly received money from the Mississippi Community Education Center in speaking fees for appearances that he never made.
It's part of a larger criminal conspiracy involving the education center and the former executive director of the Mississippi Department of Human Services related to illicit spending of funds meant for the poor, according to The New York Times.
