Should Arkansas increase its minimum wage by 20 percent? That's the question before Arkansas voters come November as the Natural States votes on a minimum wage increase.

Arkansas Business reports the initiative needed 62,507 valid signatures to make the ballot, and 129,989 signatures were turned in.

Arkansas' current minimum wage is $6.25 and a yes vote would increase the wage to $7.50 a hour on Jan. 1, 2016, and then $8.50 an hour on Jan. 1, 2017.

The current federal minimum wage is $7.25 an hour, while Missouri sits at $7.50 an hour. Washington, D.C., has the highest rate in the nation at $9.50, while Wyoming claims the lowest at $5.15. A list of minimum wages can be viewed on the Department of Labor's website.
