Military health-care provider adds Doctors Hospital

Posted online
More of Springfield’s 5,500 military retirees now have access to local health care that’s covered by their military-provided plan.

Doctors Hospital has joined the military’s provider network, Phoenix-based TriWest Healthcare Alliance. Springfield military families enrolled in TRICARE, which offers lower co-payments and other benefits, now may be reimbursed for health care.

The addition of Doctors Hospital increases TRICARE’s primary care managers from five to 14 and adds 36 specialists in nine fields: anesthesia, radiology, obstetrics/gynecology, optometry, ophthalmology, podiatry, orthopedic surgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation and general surgery.

TriWest will conduct two one-hour town hall meetings to explain the new health care plan options and benefits and how to enroll in the plan. The meetings will be at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. April 24 at the Missouri National Guard Armory, 1400 N. Fremont Ave.[[In-content Ad]]
