Indiana Gov. Mike Pence this morning rallied for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump during a stop at the Springfield Expo Center.
Introduced by Republican Congressman Billy Long, R-Mo., the candidate for U.S. vice president addressed topics including national security, limited government, Second Amendment and anti-abortion rights, a freeze on new federal regulations, Americans’ right to jobs over illegal workers and stopping another Clinton from entering office.
“His only special interest will be you,” Pence told a crowd of around 1,000 about Trump. “Let’s go make Missouri ready.”
Pence, who was joined by Republican Missouri gubernatorial candidate Eric Greitens, said Trump would work to take down the Affordable Care Act - which he said has increased costs of health care dramatically. He also said his running mate would lower taxes and raise interest rates.
“It’s one of the reasons that the only thing really prospering in this economy is Wall Street and the stock market,” he said. “That essentially comes from an artificially low interest rate. The real numbers are not the Wall Street numbers.”
Pence and Greitens also are scheduled to visit Chesterfield this afternoon.
