MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company has made another acquisition in Missouri. The company, which owns Carol Jones, Realtors, is purchasing J.C. Nichols Real Estate, a Kansas City-based real estate company.
MidAmerican is currently merging with CalEnergy; the announcement of that merger came Aug. 12. That merger would make the merged entity, which will retain the MidAmerican name, the third largest real estate entity in the United States. The purchase of J.C. Nichols will make it the second largest, according to a release from MidAmerican.
MidAmerican has also recently acquired HOME Real Estate and CBS Real Estate in Omaha, Neb. Those companies are the two largest real estate companies in Omaha.
The corporate headquarters for the merged company will be in Des Moines, Iowa.
MidAmerican, an investor-owned utility company based in Des Moines, closed on a deal to acquire Carol Jones, Realtors, along with three other real estate companies, May 27. The real estate companies had previously been a part of the AmerUs company.
Carol Jones, Realtors, was founded in 1983 and sold to Iowa Realty in 1993. The company has 350 agents and 11 offices in southwest Missouri.
