The ninth annual Mid-America Singers Loft Walk was held Oct. 14 in downtown Springfield. The loft walk featured seven loft properties, along with side attractions The Calaboose Museum and the Holland Building Lobby. The Park Central Square Songfest capped the event. Clockwise from top left, volunteers Joyce and Sam Minasian take tickets for the event at 214 Park Central East. An exposed brick wall recalls another time in the bedroom of Apt. D at 214 Park Central East. The ornate staircase, at center, leads to the loft apartments at The Sterling, a nationally registered historic place which is being renovated into lofts, office and dining space by Allen Casey of The Casey Associates. Another work in progress, the Wise Feed Co. Building at 434-440 S. Campbell Ave., above, is being converted into commercial and residential space by Jericho Development Co. LLC. Daniel E. Scott, a principal with Jericho Development and The Design Agency, is the architect. Finally, clean lines, cabinetry and multiple levels make the most of the kitchen in Apt. 203 at 318 1/2 Park Central West.
