Mid-America Hearing Center’s second Mt. Vernon office is slated to open Nov. 1 at Mid-America Dental & Hearing Center – Loop, 558 E. Mt. Vernon Blvd., according to a company news release.

Company history

Mid-America Hearing Center has been serving hearing patients since 1988 at the original Mt. Vernon location: Mid-America Dental & Hearing – Highway, 1050 W. Hayward Dr. The new location offers patients the convenience of two Mt. Vernon offices, the release said. Mid America Hearing Center also has offices in Branson and Liberty.

“We are expanding our services to better meet the needs of those with a hearing loss,” said Scott George, president of Mid-America Hearing Center, in the release. “Our second Mt. Vernon location will be an added convenience for our hearing patients, while giving us the additional space and resources.”

Mid-America Hearing Center’s business practice is to get patients hearing aids on the same day as their visits, the release said.

Management

Glenda Gillaspy, who is board-certified in hearing instrument sciences and a member of the International Hearing Society, will serve as the licensed hearing instrument specialist at the new location.

“I look forward to serving hearing patients at the new Mid-America Hearing Center office,” Gillaspy said. “I consider it a privilege to help people hear better.”

A native of the Ozarks, Gillaspy became a licensed hearing instrument specialist in May 1993 and received board certification in hearing instrument sciences in June 1995.

She also is a member of the International Hearing Society. Gillaspy served for more than five years at the Branson Mid-America Hearing Center before becoming the supervisor of the Mt. Vernon Mid-America Hearing Center in June of 2001. Gillaspy now serves as supervisor of both Mt. Vernon locations.
