Mid-America Apartment to buy Post Properties for $3.9B

Mid-America Apartment Communities Inc. penned a deal to buy Post Properties Inc. for $3.9 billion.

The purchase would create the largest publicly traded multifamily apartment real estate investment trust by units.

Combined, the companies would have a market capitalization of $17 billion.
