Microsoft's new CEO to make a fortune

Microsoft announced plans Tuesday to hire 20-year veteran exec Satya Nadella as its new CEO. According to a CNNMoney report, he will be paid handsomely for his services.

At yesterday's stock price, he could take home as much as $17.2 million this year, and $30.4 million a year starting in 2015. At that rate, Nadella will likely be among the top 5 highest paid tech CEOs, according to CNNMoney.

Last year, Nadella was Microsoft's second-highest paid executive, taking home $7.7 million in salary, bonuses and stock grants.
