Microsoft begins accepting bitcoin

In something of a soft launch, Microsoft rather nonchalantly announced under the radar earlier this week that it is now accepting bitcoin as a payment option.
 
The announcement was quietly slipped into the company's billing and payment options policy and only became known to the public at large when users began online discussions about the payment option, according to CNNMoney.
 
Those who have the digital currency can use it to pay for apps, games and digital content from Microsoft. That might not be very many people, though. Although bitcoin is a popular form of digital currency, it is considered controversial and volatile since it's not a recognized, government-issued currency.
