Michaels confirms breach of as many as 2.6M debit, credit cards

The country's largest crafts chain, Michaels, confirmed about 2.6 million cards, or roughly 7 percent of all debit and credit cards used at its stores, may have been affected in a security breach. The company says it contained the incident, which began last year.

The company's subsidiary, Aaron Brothers, also was attacked, according to the Associated Press.

The details come nearly three months after Michaels disclosed it may have been a victim of a data breach and that it was working with law enforcement authorities, banks and payment processors.
