The World Trade Organization on Tuesday ruled Mexico can impose $163 million a year in trade sanctions against the United States.
According to the WTO, the amount equals how much Mexico lost by the United States penalizing Mexican tuna for not being "dolphin safe." Mexico has said U.S. requirements for dolphin-safe labeling discriminated against its tuna products.
Mexico's economy ministry plans to immediately request sanctions on imports of high-fructose corn syrup.
