Metropolitan National enters Joplin market

Posted online
Metropolitan National Bank officially entered the Joplin market with the opening yesterday of a loan production office.

Spokeswoman Michael Moss Early said the Springfield-based company signed a lease for roughly 2,000 square feet at the Creekside Plaza strip center, 2660 E. 32nd St., for undisclosed terms.

“We are expecting and looking forward to great things in that market and continued growth,” Early said. “Part of that growth could mean a full-service branch at some point.”

She said there are no concrete plans at this time to open a branch in the city.

The office is led by Brian Ollenburger, senior vice president and regional commercial executive, the sole employee. Early said the company will look to hire additional employees at the office as it gets settled.

In February, Metropolitan National opened a new 1,900-square-foot branch in Golden City, replacing an office already in place in the city 60 miles northwest of Springfield, according to SBJ archives.

A subsidiary of Marshfield Investment Co., Metropolitan National operates 12 branches.[[In-content Ad]]
