Springfield-based Metropolitan National Bank is building a new branch in Golden City to replace its sole facility in the town roughly 60 miles northwest of the Queen City.
With the build, the six Golden City employees including Manager Donna Long would relocate to nearby 403 Main St. from the branch's current 523 Main St. home, said Sharon Day, MNB executive vice president and chief financial officer.
The roughly 1,900-square-foot facility - which Day said would be slightly smaller, but more efficient, than the current branch - would add drive-thru service for the company's Golden City customers.
"The path that we're going down for this new site just happens to be less than what we currently have, but much more conducive to our functionality," Day said, noting an estimated move-in date by year's end.
Day said MNB closed Aug. 14 on the purchase of vacant land from the city of Golden City and resident Lowell Pugh for an undisclosed amount. The company sold its current spot last week to the city, which is leasing it back to the bank until the relocation.
Federal Construction - sister company of Federal Protection Inc. - is serving as general contractor for the community bank branch focused largely on rural agricultural lending, Day said. She said an estimated cost of construction hasn't yet been determined.
A subsidiary of Marshfield Investment Co., MNB operates 12 branches in Springfield, Marshfield, Nixa, Lamar, Golden City, Branson West, Kimberling City, Blue Eye and Hollister.[[In-content Ad]]
