Meta has emerged victorious in an antitrust trial against the Federal Trade Commission.
Judge James Boasberg of the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., handed down the decision, saying the federal government had not successfully proven that Meta has a monopoly.
“We are deeply disappointed in this decision,” said Joe Simonson, the FTC’s director of public affairs, according to CNBC. “The deck was always stacked against us with Judge Boasberg, who is currently facing articles of impeachment. We are reviewing all our options.”
The seven-month trial was focused on Meta's Instagram and WhatsApp services.
