Meta to settle Cambridge Analytica case for $725M

Facebook parent company Meta agreed to pay a $725 million settlement.

The settlement resolves a class-action lawsuit accusing the company of allowing third parties, including Cambridge Analytica, to access users' personal information.

Reports surfaced in 2018 that Facebook allowed political consulting firm Cambridge Analytica to access the data of as many as 87 million users.
