Meta settles social media lawsuit for $16.7B

Meta agreed to pay up to $16.7 billion to resolve a social media lawsuit.

The lawsuit from 29 states accused the company of engineering Facebook and Instagram to be addictive to children.

In addition to the money, Meta must introduce daily time caps and overnight restrictions for teen users, among other measures.
